APA reports quoting UNIAN that though it is a working day, there are about 25 000 protestors on the square. Berkut riot police started to leave the square suddenly. The crowd welcomed it and chanted "goodbye!". The police also gave up dismantling barricades outside the mayor's office.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko has vowed once again that no forcible dispersal of the protest rally at Independence Square in Kyiv is planned. "I want to calm everyone down: there will be no dispersal of Maidan [the rally at Independence Square]. Nobody is infringing upon the people's right to a peaceful protest. However, the rights and legitimate interests of other people cannot be ignored. The capital city's normal functioning cannot be disrupted," the Interior Ministry quoted Zakharchenko as saying on Wednesday.
He said the roads were cleared from barricades under the court decision.
