Baku. Mubariz Aslanov, Shamil Alibeyli - APA. A parliamentarian from Ukraine's Party of Regions has commented on the developments in the country.
Parliamentarian from Ukraine's ruling Party of Regions Vadim Kolesnichenko told APA that the recent deadly unrests upset him. The parliamentarian blamed one of the opposition leaders, UDAR Party chairman Vitali Klitschko for the unrests, accused him of fulfilling the "task he was given in Berlin on Monday".
Vadim Kolesnichenko said civil war like the one during Arab Spring is happening in Kiev.
"Those who have started the war can not be called democratic leaders. This is not democracy, this is extremism with the face of fascism. They fire at the unarmed police, kill them," he said.
The parliamentarian refuted the reports about separation inside the Party of Regions.
"Head of Kiev Administration is the authorized representative of the President and has decided to leave the party due to the unrests in the capital. He has done it to be non-party man. Kiev district administration chairmen have also decided to leave the party with this purpose. This aims to ensure the balance of political interests," he said.
The ruling party official also refuted the reports that 12 parliamentarians quitted the party.
"This is not true. 3-4 of our members from Western Ukraine have decided to leave the faction. They say their families, relatives are facing terror threats, physical and psychological pressures. We have discussed the problem and we have not opposed to them," he said.
Vadim Kolesnichenko has also commented on the reports that there is a Russian factor in the developments.
"The influence of the West is felt more," he said.
He expressed tough position on the sanctions imposed by the West and US on some Ukrainian senior officials and parliamentarians from the ruling party.
“Due to their attempts, civil war is happening in Ukraine," he said.
