Moscow mayor's office disallows oppositionists to hold rally against Russian military actions in Syria

Baku. Farid Akbarov – APA. Moscow Mayor’s Office has unauthorized oppositional groups to hold a rally in the city Nov. 20 against Russia’s involvement in military operations in Syria, APA cited the leader of the opposition Russia’s December 5 Party, Sergei Davidis, as saying on Nov. 11.

Davidis noted that the rally organizers will appeal to court regarding the decision of the mayor’s office.

Earlier, several opposition groups in Russia had asked the Moscow Mayor’s Office for permission to stage a protest against Russia’s involvement in military operations in Syria.

Sergei Davidis, leader of the opposition December 5 Party, said the November 20 event would aim to attract attention to Russian military activities in Syria.

Davidis said on Facebook on November 7 that organizers of the proposed demonstration include his party, as well as opposition groups like the PARNAS party, the Libertarian Party of Russia, the For Human Rights movement, and the Solidarity movement.
