Baku. Anakhanum Hidayatova – APA. The meeting between Linas LinkeviÄius, Lithuanian Foreign Minister and the current Chair of the Council of the European Union, and Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian has not taken place. APA reports quoting Delphi agency that LinkeviÄius announced yesterday at the general foreign and security policy conference that he would meet with the Armenian Foreign Minister. Though the meeting was planned for today, the Foreign Ministry of Lithuania confirmed that the meeting will not take place.
Armenia has recently decided to join the Customs Union. Linas LinkeviÄius strongly reacted to this statement of Armenia’s President: “If Armenia has made this choice, they will not sign a free trade agreement with the EU. Thereby, the level of ambitions for the integration into and cooperation with the EU is reducing. We respect the choice of any country, but a country can not sign two contracts with different tariff requirements.”
