Mass brawl erupts between Chechen and Dagestani wrestlers in Russia

The scuffle was started by the Chechen athlete. After being defeated, the fighter rushed at his opponent, and then delegation members and supporters—some of them armed—intervened in the brawl.

According to eyewitnesses, the scuffle was triggered the Chechen athlete struck his opponent.

At least one of those involved in the brawl had a weapon on him, which is clearly seen in an amateur video. The fight lasted about a minute and stopped after the intervention of the competition organizers, who had to call police.

Law enforcers are investigating the incident, especially the fact the how someone had managed to enter the arena with a weapon.

According to President of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili brawl initiator can be disqualified for life.
