Moscow. Farid Akbarov – APA. Turkey has promised to consider the establishment of an international monitoring at two checkpoints on the border with Syria,” Russian FM Sergey Lavrov said after talks with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier, APA’s Moscow correspondent reported.
"The UN Security Council at our initiative adopted Resolution 2165, which referred to the need to establish control over the supply of humanitarian aid,. And with the permission of the Turkish government, this resolution notes that the United Nations should establish a monitoring presence at these two checkpoints on the Turkish territory. At one of these checkpoints points there are UN representatives, while the second is still closed,” Said Lavrov.
According to Lavrov, this issue was raised during Turkish President Erdogan’s visit to Russia, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Saint Petersburg. "I think that these issues will be solved,” he added.
