“Our counterparts were of the opinion that it’s essential to begin withdrawing heavy weaponry without waiting until there isn’t a single shot,” Lavrov told reporters.
Lavrov also added that the Normandy Quartet foreign minister emphasized the importance of the OSCE special monitoring commission allocating extra personnel, equipment and funding.
“The current situation in Donbass is much better despite some sporadic violations. We urged our countries to soon issue a statement on the extension of the mandate of the OSCE special monitoring commission in Ukraine,” he noted.
