Baku – APA. The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) has disclosed the results of the investigation into the Falcon 50 airplane crash that killed Total CEO Christophe de Margerie.

The experts concluded that the incident happened because of poor service at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport as an intoxicated shift supervisor failed to ensure proper control over the airfield. He is also charged with violating the working schedule of special vehicles. The other cause is said to be that the dispatcher and his assistant did not record a snowplow entering the area as the Falcon 50 crew was given the permission to take off.

On 20 October 2014, a Dassault Falcon 50 hit a snowplow whilst carrying Total President Christophe de Margerie on a flight back to Paris, France. All the four people on the aircraft were killed in the incident, which took place at about 11 PM on October 20, 2014, at Vnukovo International Airport, Moscow.
