Georgian Revenue Service: "Heroin truck entered Georgia from the territory of Armenia"

Baku-APA. As a result of the joint investigation, the employees of the Georgia Revenue Service under the Ministry of Finance of Georgia in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia detected a crime of international trafficking of narcotics, APA reports quoting Revenue Service of Georgia.

Law-enforcement authorities found 2 tones and 790 kilograms of liquid heroin during the examination of a truck. It is worth noting that law-enforcement authorities have not previously had a detection of this yet unprecedented scale, until today.

Investigation was able to establish that the truck entered Georgian territory from the territory of Armenia and was headed to a destination in Turkey. Law-enforcement authorities seized 93 items of casks with the weight of 30 kilogram filled with liquid heroin.

According to the preliminary investigation, the seized narcotics contain 80 per cent of pure heroin, with the market price is estimated in hundreds of millions of USD. Investigation concerning the illegal international transit of narcotic drugs is currently underway.
