Baku-APA. Georgia has invited international observers to monitor the South Caucasus country's October presidential election, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Deputy Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani said Wednesday the country had sent out formal invitations to all main election observation missions, including the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

"We have already received a confirmation that the OSCE mission, which formally is the main international observation mission, will monitor the election," he said.

Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said in an address released Wednesday that Georgia would involve as many qualified observers in the election process as possible, while the Georgian government would make an all-out effort to ensure a fully-fledged election campaign.

The 2013 Georgian presidential election has been set for Oct. 27.

The international observers are invited to monitor both the pre-election campaign and the polling process itself.
