Food stores, cafes closed in downtown Kiev

Practically all food stores and food outlets do not work in downtown Kiev, which has been cordoned off by interior troops and special task units, APA reports quoting ITAR TASS.

Employees of food stores and cafes do not give any comment. They only say this is related to security reasons.

The situation has no impact on protesters in downtown Kiev. Hot food is being cooked at field kitchens. Sandwiches and vegetables have been sliced off at the Mayor’s Office buildings, the Trade Unions House and others.

Meanwhile, an explosive device has been searched for at the metro stations of Teatralnaya, Kreshchatik and Independence Square.

Local television broadcasts that there are no people at the metro states. The opposition said the metro stations were closed to allow law enforcers to reach Independence Square without any obstacle.
