“We’ve noticed the increasing frequency of calls from Western countries for cooperation with Russia on the problems related to Ukraine,” it said. “We made a proposal long ago, well before the transition of the crisis into a hot phase but our counterparts were not quite prepared to accept it then.”
“Nonetheless, we’re prepared to cooperate given there’s a clear understanding that collaboration will be honest and based on the ability to come to agreements and, on top of them, to act in compliance with them.”
“The agreements should take account of the interests of the entire Ukrainian people and the interests of all partners of Ukraine,” the ministry’s report said.
“In this respect, enactment of the February 21 accords might become an important step toward that end,” it said.
Russia calls for cutting short the interference in the affairs of the Church in Ukraine, as well as the desecration of Eastern Orthodox Churches and memorials dedicated to heroes of World War II who liberated Ukraine from Nazism.
“Revoking of a law on the foundations of state policy in the field of languages that contravened Ukraine’s major international commitments and the initiatives leading up to a further infringement on the rights of ethnic minorities, restrictions on the mass media, and bans on the activity of separate political parties give grounds to a serious concern,” the ministry said.
