Baku. Turbet Baghirova – APA. EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Herbert Salber will arrive in Armenia on July 5, RIA Novosti cited the head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Peter Switalski as saying on July 4.
According to him, in Armenia Salber is scheduled to have meetings with President Serzh Sargsyan, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and other officials.
"This visit testifies to the fact that the EU wants to increase its role and involvement in the region to be perceived as a partner that provides support and assistance," said Switalski
He said the EU is ready to contribute to the solution of the Karabakh conflict.
Herbert Salber is expected to visit Azerbaijan in mid-July.
