The draft resolution has already been registered by the Verkhovna Rada.
The report says that the draft resolution was initiated by MPs Arsen Avakov (Yulia Tymoshenko's Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) party) and Vilen Shatvoryan (the ruling Party of Regions).
The draft resolution notes that the Verkhovna Rada recognizes the mass killing of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire in 1915-1922 as genocide of the Armenian people and April 24 as a remembrance day of the genocide victims.
It is still unknown when the draft resolution will be submitted for discussion.
