Baku – APA. A serious violation of the ceasefire is observed in Ukraine's Donbass region. APA reports quoting censor.net that Ukraine's Counter-Terrorism Center said the separatist forces violated ceasefire 95 times within a day: “This level is similar to the level that was observed before the ceasefire agreement reached in Minsk. The enemy doesn’t refrain from opening fire from heavy artillery and rocket launchers and is prompting us to retaliate”.
Positions of the Ukrainian army in Avdeyevka city, Peski, Opitnoye, Vodyanoye villages near Donetsk city were mostly fired on. Strategically important village Shyrokyne near Mariupol city underwent unceasing attacks of separatists in recent days. The war lasted for 6 hours in the village on May 3-4. Ukrainian forces have repelled the attacks.
Ukrainian MP Igor Mosiychuk regarded the developments as the resumption of active hostilities.
“Russian armed forces fire our positions along the entire eastern front from Grad systems, gaubitsa and other heavy weapons. They attacked Shirokino and the situation is not good in Peski district as well. It is interesting why the Ministry of Defense, General Staff and the Supreme Commander are silent,” he added.
Earlier this year on February 11-12, Petro Poroshenko, Vladimir Putin, Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande reached a ceasefire deal in Minsk.
