Deputy Chairman of Ukrainian Security Council, Kyiv mayor and Kyiv Police Chief to be brought to responsibility

Baku – APA. Kyiv Mayor Alexander Popov, Police Chief Valery Koryak and undersecretary of the National Security Council Vladimir Zivkovich will be brought to the responsibility due to dispersal of the rally in the Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) at the night of November 29-30, said the Ukrainian General Prosecutor Viktor Pshonka, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.

 

V. Pshonka noted that he filed a petition for dismissing and placing under house arrest A. Popov and V. Zivkovich: “On the night of November 29-30, Popov and Zivkovich were in the office of Police Chief Valery Koryak. According to the information of the investigation, they made police chief take decision to use force”.

 

General Prosecutor’s Office also launched criminal case against Police Chief Valery Koryak and deputy chief Peter Fedchuk under charges of abusing power. Pshonka said they will face house arrest: “I personally reported to president about the process of investigation. I agreed with the president that these persons should be dismissed”.

 

The court will hear petitions of General Prosecutor’s Office on December 16-17.
