Baku. Turbat Baghirova – APA. A constructive dialogue within the framework of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) can contribute to the fight against terrorism, RIA Novosti cited BSEC Secretary General Michael Christides as saying.
Michael Christides made the remarks at the opening of the BSEC Council of Foreign Ministers' meeting in Sochi July 1.
He said that thanks to Russia's ambitious plan, the half of the year was very fruitful.
“The tragedy that recently occurred at Istanbul’s airport showed that instability, terrorism exists in our region. I extend my sincere condolences to Turkey,” said the secretary general.
According to him, the best response to the problems can be a general and constructive dialogue on various issues.
Member states should increase their financial contribution to the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, its secretary general said.
BSEC should increase the period of chairmanship from six months to one year, Christides added.
