A. Grigoriu noted at a press conference that "in her report in the Armenian parliament, she did not say anything new." She accused vice-speaker of Armenian parliament Hermine Naghdalyan on instigating the scandal, APA reports quoting vesti.md. .
"The information that I have presented in the report – is not my speculation. I used information from the UN Security Council data and did not say anything new. This information is public and well known. I could not imagine that it would grow into a scandal," stressed Grigoriu.
"I wanted to draw public attention to human rights violations in the areas of frozen conflicts and expressed the position of human rights defenders," said the ombudswoman.
Grigoriu said that her speech was misinterpreted by the fault of Vice-Speaker of Armenia Hermine Naghdalyan.
The Ombudswoman also noted that she received threats in her address, "I received threats both on the phone in my hotel room, and to my personal page on the social network. I felt that these threats are real and informed our Foreign Ministry."
At the international conference in Yerevan, Aurelia Grigoriu said that Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan continues for more than 25 years and Armenia occupied 20% of Azerbaijani territories.
