Arseniy Yatsenyuk: â€œThe political part of the association agreement with the European Union will be signed in the coming weeksâ€

Baku – APA. “The political part of the association agreement with the European Union will be signed in the coming weeks,” Ukraine’s interim Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said in Kiev at the press conference on the outcomes of his visit to Brussels, APA reports quoting RBK Ukraina agency. “Yesterday Ukraine and EU decided to sign the political part of the association agreement. Technical discussions are underway to fix the date when the agreement will be signed,” he said.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk mentioned that $15 billion financial aid to Ukraine was unanimously approved at the EU meeting, added that EU will also give $2 billion non-repayable grant assistance to Ukraine. Moreover, the European Union is ready in on a unilateral basis to open the market of the EU for the Ukrainian goods. This will help Ukraine generate $400 million a year. Yatsenyuk said they would mainly export agricultural, grain products, confectionery to Europe.
Touching on the relations with Russia, Yatsenyuk said he appealed to have a phone conversation with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

“We have clearly stated that we are ready to hold talks with our Russian partners. But they must withdraw their forces from Ukraine, stop supporting separatists and terrorists in Crimea, observe the bilateral and multilateral treaties, declare that a new stage has started in Russia-Ukraine relations. We will never be a subordinate and branch of Russia. Russian authorities must understand it,” he said.
