Armored SUV owned by Saakashvili stolen in Kiev

Baku – APA. A Toyota Land Cruiser owned by the chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili was stolen in Kiev July 6, said the online newspaper strana.ua.

According to the newspaper, the SUV worth about 6 million hryvnia (approximately $242,000) was stolen by henchmen of crime boss Sergo Glonti, nicknamed Guga, who is in custody now.

The theft was reportedly carried out to ensure the loyalty of the Georgian clan in Ukraine’s law-enforcement agencies before the consideration of Guga’s appeal scheduled for July 8.

If the court agrees with the arguments of the lawyers, the crime boss will not be extradited and will be released, then the SUV will be returned to the owner.

Guga, one of the leaders of the “Tbilisi community of thieves” was detained by police in Kiev 21 June 2016 on the orientation of the Hungarian police. He was sentenced to a 40-day administrative arrest on charges of fraud with the purpose of illicitly obtaining Hungarian citizenship.
