Armenian citizens who robbed 18 mln rubles from bank in Russia detained

Moscow. Farid Akbarov – APA. A gang of Armenian citizens who attacked a bank in Russia and robbed 18 mln rubles ($ 475,000) was detained.

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has released information about it, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

The gang of Armenian citizens, who attacked a bank in Kaluga oblast was detained as a result of search operations carried out by law enforcement officials. The gang members were taken traumatic pistols, communication tools and car they used in crime.

Investigation is underway on the fact. Armenian citizens can be imprisoned for up to about 15 years.

Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said that in the first half of 2014, foreigners committed 24,5 thousand crimes in Russia. He said that 26 percent of these crimes have been committed by citizens of the CIS countries.
