The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Shavarsh Kocharyan, on Thursday told the aforementioned to reporters, APA reported citing news.am.
Kocharyan noted this commenting on a part of a recent interview by Kirill I, Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia of the Russian Orthodox Church, where he had said the Christian minorities in the Ottoman Empire were not annihilated.
“Yes, subsequently, there was the comment of their press secretary that these words don’t refer to the Armenian Genocide,” the deputy FM noted. “But, in any case, I think that this statement was very unlucky.”
