Baku. Rufat Ahmadzadeh – APA. The adoption of law on giving special status to some parts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions does not mean that anti-terror operations stopped, said Adviser to the Ukrainian President, Batkivschyna MP Mykola Tomenko Mykola Tomenko, APA reports quoting “Ukrainskaya pravda”.
He said that the fight against the armed forces would be continued in Donbass.
Speaking about the status given for three-year period, Tomenko noted that it is the maximum period: “The Verkhovna Rada may suspend the duration of the status, if the situation changes. It should be noted that people voted for Petro Poroshenko’s peace plan during the presidential elections, but not for 3-year war plan. The adoption of this law doesn’t mean that we stopped counter-terrorism operations and development of the Ukrainian armed forces. Today, our armed forces need new types of weapons, preparation and becoming a modern army”, he said.
