The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) is noting attempts by some Western countries to provoke disintegration processes in the CIS, said SVR Head Sergey Naryshkin, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, the West aims to prevent the development of the CIS.
“Recently, we have observed a tendency of attempts by a number of Western states, primarily European countries, to provoke disintegration processes within the CIS. In this regard, of course, Western politicians aim to prevent the development of the Commonwealth of Independent States as an independent power center,” emphasized the head of the SVR.
Naryshkin noted that the "war party" operating in Europe does not want peace and security on the continent.
He said that the West has not abandoned its "foolish" dream of delivering a strategic defeat to Russia.
