Armenia intends to reject Russian grain and opt for more expensive Ukrainian grain financed by the European Union for political reasons, APA’s Moscow bureau reports, citing a statement released by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR).
The SVR statement notes: “Brussels is expected to compensate for the higher cost of Ukrainian grain. The EU is currently considering whether to agree, as this would require payments on a permanent basis, and Belgium is currently refusing to allow the use of frozen Russian assets.”
The SVR dubbed Armenia’s plans to reject Russian grain the “Yerevan kiss,” likening it to the “Judas kiss.”
