Armenia’s National Security Service and police have left the Echmiadzin area, APA reports citing the Armenian National Security Service.
It noted that today, during the execution of the decision to detain Archbishop Mikael Ajapakhyan, a gathering of citizens was recorded in Echmiadzin.
The National Security Service and police decided to leave the area to prevent deliberate escalation of the situation.
The NSS called on citizens to refrain from escalating tensions, to not obstruct the lawful decisions of law enforcement agencies, and urged Archbishop Mikael Ajapakhyan not to hide from law enforcement.
