Reports that Armenian security forces have detained Archbishop Mikael Ajapakhyan have not been confirmed, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.
According to the information, Mikael Ajapakhyan is still at the residence of the Catholicos of All Armenians in Etchmiadzin.
Tensions remain high, and additional security forces are being deployed to the area.
Mikael Ajapakhyan has stated that he is not hiding and is preparing to go with the security forces.

Armenian security forces have detained Archbishop Mikael Ajapakhyan, said Catholicos of All Armenians, Karekin II, APA reports.
Karekin II stated that they will decide on the next steps in response to the searches at the Armenian Church and the detention of Archbishop Ajapakhyan: “Mikael Ajapakhyan will now go with our lawyer. We will return to the residence where the meeting of the clergy is taking place. We will hold discussions and make a decision.”
