Simonyan says Armenia has “actually left” CSTO, while deputy FM denies exit discussions -UPDATED

We have actually left the CSTO, said Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan while commenting on the issue of Armenia's possible withdrawal from the CSTO, APA reports, citing Armenpress.

The issue of Armenia's withdrawal from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is not being discussed, said Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan, APA reports, citing Armenian media.

According to him, the format of Armenia's participation in the CSTO has already been determined.

"Armenia does not participate, but it does not prevent the adoption of decisions and documents. This is our policy at this stage. Armenia conducts its foreign policy in accordance with its own interests and the current situation. Both diversification and balancing policies have been announced. Armenia is making decisions and if there is additional information, we will provide information," the Deputy Foreign Minister noted.

Note that Armenia is not participating in the CSTO summit in Bishkek , but is not against the adoption of the agreed documents.
