Sasun Arushanyan, who was detained for the 1998 assassination of Armenia’s Deputy Defense Minister Vaghram Khorkhoruni, has been arrested, Sputnik Armenia was informed by the Investigative Committee, APA reports.
It is noted that Arushanyan worked as the "chief" of Samvel Babayan's security during those years.
Note that Samvel Babayan was the "defense minister" of the Karabakh separatists.
Recall that the murder of a deputy defense minister has been solved in Armenia after 27 years. The Investigative Committee of Armenia announced that the murder of Deputy Defense Minister Vahram Khorkhoruni in 1998 has been solved, and three people are accused of committing the crime.
According to the investigation, Sasun Arushanyan promised two individuals $10,000 and $15,000, respectively, and together with them, on the appointed day—December 10, 1998—they shot Vaghram Khorkhoruni at the entrance of the building where he lived. Arushanyan has been detained.
Khorkhoruni was killed at the entrance to the building where he lived on December 10, 1998. A criminal case was opened regarding the fact, and an operational-investigative group was formed from employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Security of Armenia.
