The visit of U.S. President Donald Trump's special representative, Steve Witkoff, to Russia remains in place, and there is no reason to question it, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
He noted that Russia will work with the proposals that Witkoff will bring to Moscow regarding Ukraine.
The Russian deputy minister emphasized that European countries continue efforts to disrupt future progress on the Ukraine peace agreement.
Ryabkov also spoke about a possible prisoner exchange between Moscow and Washington. He said that there are occasional contacts between Russia and the U.S. on this issue, but at present, it is not receiving special attention.
Note that Yury Ushakov, aide to the President of Russia on international affairs, previously announced that Steve Witkoff, the special representative of U.S. President Donald Trump, will visit Moscow next week.
