It was noted in the CIS that both Armenia and Azerbaijan have shown interest in participating in the activities of the organization, said Russia's Permanent Representative to the statutory and other bodies of the CIS, Andrey Grozov, APA reports, citing TASS.
According to him, all issues within the CIS framework are attempted to be resolved in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual respect. "The Russian side also always tries to encourage its partners towards constructive cooperation," Grozov said.
The diplomat emphasized that states make decisions about participation in the work of any CIS bodies based on their sovereign rights. He also commented on the non-participation of Azerbaijani representatives in the meeting of the CIS Economic Council in this context.
