The Supreme Qualification Board of Judges has received an application from Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov for the position of Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, APA reports, citing iz.ru.
"The Supreme Qualification Board has received an application from Prosecutor General Krasnov for the vacant position of chairman of the Supreme Court," Interfax quoted him as saying.
According to the information, the Chairman of the Supreme Court is appointed by the Federation Council for a term of six years upon the recommendation of the President of Russia and based on a positive opinion of the High Qualification Collegium of Judges.
