Russian TV presenter Tatyana Lazareva has been sentenced in absentia to seven years in prison for evading her duties as a foreign agent, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
The prosecutor requested that Lazareva's previous sentence be added to six months in prison, for a total of seven years in prison.
In addition, Lazareva was banned from managing a social network for four years.
According to the case materials, the TV presenter twice published materials on her Telegram channel "Catch Lazareva!" in February 2025 that did not have the mandatory foreign agent label.
The investigation found that Lazareva had already been held administratively liable twice for similar violations during the same year. The fines imposed by the court were initially not paid, which led to the initiation of proceedings against her.
It should be noted that Lazareva was included in the "foreign agent" register in the summer of 2022. In June 2024, the TV presenter was put on the wanted list, and in December, the court sentenced her in absentia to 6.5 years in prison for "justifying terrorism."
