The Russian State Duma has adopted a bill on year-round conscription for military service in the first reading, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
The bill was considered at the Duma's plenary session today.
The lower house of parliament has adopted a bill on military service during the calendar year, from January 1 to December 31 - in the first reading.
According to the law, medical examinations and meetings of the conscription board will be held throughout the year, and citizens will be sent to serve in certain periods.
Note that until now, military conscription in Russia has been held twice a year, in the spring (from April 1 to July 15) and in the fall (from October 1 to December 31).
