Members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation supported the recognition of the "independence" of the separatist "republics" in Ukraine, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matviyenko, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Head of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Intelligence Service Chief Sergei Naryshkin, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev and others addressing the extraordinary meeting of the Security Council chaired by President Vladimir Putin supported the proposal to recognize the independence of the separatist Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic.
Putin thanked those present at the Security Council meeting and said the final decision would be announced.
