Russian President Vladimir Putin is going to China for four days at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, APA reports citing TASS.
As the Russian leader's aide for international affairs Yuri Ushakov noted, such a long trip to a foreign country is an unusual and very rare event, and the work program is so packed that "it will be quite a week."
In addition to the Chinese capital, Putin will also visit Tianjin during his trip. It is here that the events of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will be held from August 31 to September 1. Then, on September 1, the Russian leader will move on to Beijing. As Ushakov told journalists, "this time several options have been proposed, including a train." In 2018, Putin and Xi Jinping already traveled this route by rail. Whether the head of the Russian state will use the Chinese high-speed train again has not yet been disclosed.
