Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reaffirmed on Friday that Russia will not turn off the gas supplies to Europe if buyers do not confirm payment in rubles today, APA reports citing Tele Trader.
"Payment for deliveries that are occurring now should not be made today; it should be carried out at the end of the second half of the month, April or even early May," Peskov told a press conference amid suspicions that Moscow would cancel the gas deliveries due to the lack of confirmation of payment in rubles.
He further mentioned to the press that Russian President Vladimir Putin had been briefed on the attack on the Russian fuel depot near Ukraine, an incident that, according to Peskov, does not create a comfortable situation to continue peace talks.
