Russian President Vladimir Putin said he did not agree with the Nobel Committee's decision, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
Speaking at a press conference following his visit to Tajikistan, Putin noted that the Committee's decision on the Nobel Peace Prize had greatly damaged the credibility of the award.
"The Nobel Committee has repeatedly awarded the Peace Prize to those who have done nothing for peace," the Russian president stressed.
He said that the Nobel Committee has largely lost its credibility: "It is not for me to judge whether the current US president deserves the Nobel Prize. I do not know. But he really does a lot to resolve complex crises that have been going on for years, even decades."
Putin also expressed the opinion that Donald Trump "sincerely strives for peace" regarding the Ukrainian crisis.
