Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree appointing Colonel General Viktor Goremykin as Deputy Minister of Defense, APA reports citing Sputnik.
“To appoint Colonel-General Viktor Petrovich Goremykin as Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation – Head of the Main Military-Political Directorate Russian Armed Forces releases him from his post.”
Goremykin has been the head of the Main Personnel Directorate of the Ministry of Defense since April 2009. He received the orders “For Entitlement to the Fatherland” III and IV degrees, Alexander Nevsky, Courage, Friendship. He has the honorary title “Honored Military Specialist of the Russian Federation”.
