Members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) buy gas at prices five times lower than those in Europe, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, the price of 1,000 cubic meters of gas in Europe is $900, while EAEU countries can purchase the same volume for less than $200.
“We have created favorable conditions for the development of our economies. For comparison, the price of gas in Europe is about $900 per 1,000 cubic meters. For the countries of the Union, this figure does not exceed $200. Given the price difference, the economic benefit amounts to hundreds of millions of dollars. This is an undeniable advantage that the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union enjoy thanks to the functioning of the common energy market,” the Russian Prime Minister noted.
