Russia has announced that Ukrainian soldiers besieged in Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) have begun to surrender, APA's Moscow bureau reports, citing Russian Defense Ministry.
It should be noted that a few days ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the creation of a corridor for foreign and Ukrainian journalists to meet with Ukrainian soldiers besieged in Krasnoarmeysk. However, the Ukrainian side rejected Putin's proposal.
Later, it became known that the Ukrainian side had sent a special forces unit to Pokrovsk. The Russian MoD announced today that 11 members of the special forces unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine were killed today.
