Russian MFA: US did not inform Russia about air strike on the ISIS leader in Syria

"The United States has not warned Russia in advance about an airstrike on one of the leaders of the ISIS terrorist organization in Syria. However, the Americans followed all the procedures to avoid a conflict with Russia," said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syrmolotov, APA reports.

"They did not inform us about the strike, they just said they would have an operation and did not unveil the reason. This is a standard procedure to avoid conflict. The United States is currently investigating the issue, as many civilians have been killed. The result is indeed the result if it is really destroyed ... ", - said the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister.

On February 3, US President Joe Biden announced that the leader of the ISIS terrorist organization had been killed in Syria. Abu Ibrahim al-Qurayshi, the leader of ISIS since 2019, was killed during an operation in Idlib province.
