An exchange of congratulatory messages has been conducted between the leaders of the two countries Vladimir Putin, as well as heads of Governments, Parliaments, and Ministries of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the significant event," it has been recorded in the statement.

The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that in connection with this significant date, an exchange of congratulations took place between the leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev, as well as the heads of governments, parliaments and foreign ministries.

Attention is focused on the fact that the positions of Moscow and Baku in international affairs are close or largely coincide: “We are closely cooperating within the framework of the CIS, interacting in the context of integration processes in the Eurasian space. On international platforms, including the UN and the OSCE, our countries traditionally support each other, demonstrate a resolute rejection of any manifestations of racism, xenophobia, neo-Nazism, discrimination based on nationality, language or religion. Russia and Azerbaijan are also in solidarity in countering attempts to glorify Nazism and revise the results of the Second World War and falsify history.”

The report says that Russia is one of the leading foreign trade partners of Azerbaijan: "The Action Plan for the development of key areas of Russian-Azerbaijani cooperation for the period up to 2024 is being actively implemented, including six road maps for trade, transport infrastructure, high technology industries, improving the efficiency of the economy and tourism, cooperation in the field of innovative development and digital technologies.”

It is noted that an intensive political dialogue is maintained between the two countries at the highest and high levels, and the established solid legal framework includes more than 150 interstate and intergovernmental agreements.

"It is very symbolic that Russia and Azerbaijan are celebrating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in a new capacity. On February 22 this year in Moscow, Presidents Putin and Aliyev signed the Declaration on Allied Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan. The provisions of this document are directed to the future. New allied relations will continue to develop progressively as before on the basis of strong traditions of good neighborliness, equality and consideration of each other's interests. This fully meets the long-term interests of the peoples of Russia and Azerbaijan," says the statement.
