Russian government sets up commission to eradicate wildfires

Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on the creation of a government commission to eliminate forest fires, which was headed by Deputy Prime Minister – Chief of Staff of the Council of Ministers Dmitry Grigorenko, APA reports citing RIA Novosti.

“The government commission will coordinate the activities of federal ministries and departments, regional authorities to localize and eliminate forest fires on the territory of a number of subjects in the central part of Russia … August 23,” says the report.

The commission also included the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Alexander Kozlov, Deputy Minister of Civil Defense, Emergency Situations and Disaster Relief Viktor Yatsutsenko, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Land Forces of the Ministry of Defense Albert Budyshkin, Deputy Head of Rosleskhoz Alexei Venglinsky, Deputy Head of Roshydromet Vladimir Sokolov, as well as Deputy Mayor of Moscow Housing and Public Services Pyotr Biryukov, Deputy Head of the Government of the Moscow Region – Head of the Main Directorate for Regional Security of the Moscow Region Roman Karataev, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin and Acting Governor of the Ryazan Region Pavel Malkov.
