Moldova will summon the Russian ambassador to the Foreign Ministry tomorrow over an unidentified drone that entered its airspace on the night of November 19, APA reports, citing the Moldovan Foreign Ministry.
Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi said that they condemned the border violation on the "X" platform.
"We strongly condemn the illegal drone flight that occurred last night in the direction of Seiti, Stefan Voda - this is a serious violation of Moldova's sovereignty and a threat to regional security. The Foreign Ministry will summon the Russian ambassador to express our firm protest and demand full respect for our sovereignty," he said.
It is reported that the incident occurred between the Ukrainian villages of Lesnoye and Moldovan Seiti, at an altitude of about 100 meters.
The Moldovan Defense Ministry confirmed the incident based on information exchange with Ukraine and Romania. The Moldovan Foreign Ministry accused the Russian side of disrespecting sovereignty and said that Russian Ambassador Oleg Ozerov would be summoned to the ministry on November 20 to lodge a strong protest.
It was noted that although the drone was observed visually, it was not recorded by monitoring systems due to its low flight altitude.
