Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu had a telephone conversation with his Armenian counterpart Suren Papikyan, press service of the Russian Defense Ministry said, APA reports quoting Gazeta.ru.
"The ministers discussed the current situation in the region and the territories where Russian peacekeepers are carrying out their tasks in Karabakh, as well as other issues of mutual interest," the Defense Ministry said.
In the afternoon, Shoigu reported to President Vladimir Putin on the progress of the special operation in Ukraine. The report was read during Putin's meeting with permanent members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
