Russian Defence Ministry spokesperson Igor Konashenkov stated on Saturday that Russia has not been calling its male citizens in reserve to join the forces, characterizing reported phone calls as "fake" and forwarded from Ukraine, APA reports citing RIA Novosti.

Konashenkov asserted that during the past few days male citizens of Russia received "fake" phone calls with a voice machine informing them that they have been summoned to the military commissariat.

"All such fake calls are made from the territory of Ukraine, they absolutely do not correspond to reality and are a provocation of the Ukrainian special services," claimed Konashenkov.
