In response, Russia has declared an employee of the Estonian embassy "persona non grata" (persona non grata) and is expelling him from the country, APA reports, citing Russian Foreign Ministry.
According to the ministry, on Thursday, September 4, Estonia's Chargé d'Affaires in Russia M. Yuhtegi was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, the Russian side expressed its strong protest against Estonia's August 13 declaration of an employee of the Russian embassy in Tallinn as "persona non grata" without giving any reasons.
The Russian Foreign Ministry added that, in accordance with the principle of reciprocity, an employee of the Estonian embassy in Moscow is also being expelled from the country.
Recall that on August 13, Estonia declared the first secretary of the Russian embassy in Tallinn as "persona non grata". Official Tallinn accused the diplomat of participating in attempts to undermine the country's constitutional order.
