Russian President Vladimir Putin has called Ukraine’s attacks on tankers in the Black Sea an act of piracy, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
Speaking at the “Russia Calling” forum, Putin stated that Russia will expand the scope of strikes on Ukrainian ports and the vessels attacking them in response to the tanker attacks.
"If the attacks on tankers continue, we will consider retaliatory measures against the ships of the countries assisting Ukraine. I hope that Kyiv and those standing behind it will think carefully about whether it is worth continuing attacks on ships in the Black Sea," he said.
Putin noted that if Kyiv continues what he called piracy against Russian ships, Russia may “cut Ukraine off from the sea.”
