Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the participants of the World Youth Festival on Wednesday called the United States a "superpower," APA reports quoting BBN.
"The US is a huge and unique country, in its own way ... thanks to the talent of the American people, it has turned into a superpower. This is an obvious fact," he said while pointing out that Russia, on the other hand, is not "competing with anyone and does not need to prove anything to anyone."
Commenting on the current global situation, Putin stated that it is not easy, explaining that there are many "hot spots," but added that the same thing has happened throughout history.
